Job summary

ECU Health Chowan Hospital in Edenton, NC, seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant II to provide direct patient care under supervision of licensed nurses in a 25-bed critical access facility. You may perform additional duties as assigned and participate in patient observation per the care plan.

The role requires active NAI and NAII listings, HeartSaver certification, and completion of de-escalation training within 90 days if not current. Weekend shifts are required in a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• Requires Active NAI listing with NC Department of Health & Human Services.
• Requires Active NAII listing with North Carolina Board of Nursing.
• Current American Heart Association HeartSaver or higher certification.
• De-escalation training must be completed within 90 days of employment if not current at hire.
• High school diploma or GED preferred or higher.

Responsibilities

• Assists under licensed nurse supervision in providing direct patient care.
• Engages in unit level quality improvement and safety practices.
• Maintains compliance with hospital policies and licensing requirements.
• Supports patient care coordination and handoffs among care teams.
• Performs delegated skills and tasks as allowed by NC DHHS and NC Board of Nursing.
• Participates in patient observation and monitoring as assigned.
