Job summary

ECU Health is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant II to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This role operates within the NC NAII guidelines and may support observation activities for assigned patients on a designated unit.

The NAII will participate in unit goals, ensure safety, perform delegated skills, and cooperate with the care team. Requires active NC NAI and NAII listings, BLS HeartSaver or higher, and de-escalation training; offers 12-hour shifts, PRN

Qualifications

• Active NAI listing with NC DHHS is required.
• Active NAII listing with NC Board of Nursing is required.
• Current HeartSaver or higher certification is required.
• De-escalation training must be completed within 90 days of hire if not current.

Responsibilities

• Assists in providing direct patient care under licensed nurse supervision.
• Participates in quality improvement activities and data collection.
• Adheres to infection control, safety, and unit policies.
• Maintains communication with the care team and patient plans of care.
• Supports education, orientation, and discharge activities as delegated.
• Monitors patient signs and escalates concerns to nursing staff.
