Job summary

Fairfield Memorial Hospital is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to join the Skilled Care Unit. CNAs provide daily living support, promote comfort, and help maintain a clean, therapeutic environment under RN/LPN supervision.

Responsibilities include assisting with bathing, mobility, vital signs, meals, documentation, and participation in restorative activities. The role offers night shifts 6:00 pm–6:00 am with competitive wages and comprehensive benefits in an Equal Opportunity

Qualifications

• Must have Illinois CNA certification for Long Term Care and a high school diploma or equivalent.
• BCLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning using proper body mechanics.
• Document vital signs, intake/output, and observations promptly and accurately.
• Support restorative activities and meals, including hydration and nourishment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable resident environment.
• Observe changes in resident condition and report to nursing staff.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring dignity.

CNAs play an essential role in delivering safe, high quality, resident centered care by supporting residents with daily needs, promoting comfort, and maintaining a clean and therapeutic environment. Working under the supervision of a RN or LPN, the CNA contributes to effective care delivery through attentive observation, timely communication, and accurate documentation. The CNA provides direct, indirect, and restorative care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living, mobility, hygiene, nutrition, and comfort measures.
