Job summary

Newport Post-Acute and Rehabilitation Center in Newport, TN is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the Day Shift. This full-time role delivers direct resident care within a warm, family‑oriented team that values teamwork, safety, and dignity for every resident.

You will assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and transfers, measure and record vital signs, and document care accurately for the nursing staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Current, unencumbered CNA certification in Tennessee.
• Prior long-term care experience is preferred, but training will be provided.
• Ability to assist with lifting, transfers, and mobility with or without equipment.
• Excellent communication and a resident-centered approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding as needed.
• Assist residents with mobility, transfers, and positioning using proper body mechanics.
• Measure and record vital signs, intake and output, and other observations as directed.
• Document care provided and promptly report changes in resident condition to the nurse.
• Maintain a safe, clean, home‑like environment for residents and visitors.
• Support residents' dignity, preferences, and independence per care plans.
• Collaborate with nurses and the interdisciplinary team to meet resident needs.

Position Summary
