Job summary

Newport Post-Acute and Rehabilitation Center in Newport, TN, seeks a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant to provide direct, hands-on care to residents and support the nursing team in a skilled nursing environment.

You will assist with bathing, dressing, mobility, vital signs, documentation, and ensuring a safe, home-like setting while upholding resident dignity and independence within care plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Current, unencumbered CNA certification in Tennessee.
• Long-term care/skilled nursing experience preferred, but training available for right candidate.
• Ability to lift, move, and transfer residents with or without assistance and equipment.
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, resident-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
• Assist residents with mobility, transfers, and positioning.
• Measure and record vital signs, intake and output, and other observations.
• Document care provided and report changes to the nurse.
• Maintain a safe, clean, home-like environment for residents, families, and visitors.
• Support residents' dignity, preferences, and independence per care plans.
• Collaborate with nurses and the interdisciplinary team to meet resident needs.

Position Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct, hands-on care to residents and supports the nursing team to ensure safe, compassionate, and person-centered care in our skilled nursing environment.

• Support residents' dignity, preferences, and independence in accordance with care plans.
