Job summary

The Virginia Department of Veterans Services is seeking a Certified Nurse Aide for the day shift at the Sitter-Barfoot Veterans Care Center in Richmond.

The role supports residents, assists with meals, rounds, and documentation, requires CNA license, ability to lift and transfer, and compliance with vaccination and background check requirements.

Qualifications

• Current Virginia Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) license.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of personal care needs and activities of daily living (ADL’s).
• Physical ability to turn, bend and lift non-ambulatory adult patients without restrictions.
• Successful completion of a Background Criminal History Check, reference and employment verifications, and Pre-Employment Drug Test are required. TB Skin Testing will be completed upon hire.
• CMS Omnibus COVID-19 Health Care staff Vaccination Regulation requires vaccination or an approved exemption; accommodation and testing may be provided.

Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center; named for two Medal of Honor recipients – Colonel Van Barfoot and Colonel Carl Sitter – provides the gold standard in quality care for Virginia’s Veterans. This single-level facility features 200 single-occupancy rooms across four nursing units.
