Job summary

Ashe Services For Aging, Inc. in West Jefferson, NC seeks a qualified Medication Aide to join our care team. You will administer medications and monitor residents, documenting care per policy and MAR requirements.

Responsibilities include following the six rights of med administration, maintaining privacy, coordinating with care staff, and supporting daily living activities and meals. A friendly, compassionate caregiver with current credentials is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year experience in caregiver work preferred.
• Nurse Aide 1 Certification verifiable on Healthcare Personnel Registry or PCA certification.
• Current Medication Aide Certification.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Follow the six “rights” of medication administration for every resident.
• Administer/assist meds per MAR and protect resident privacy.
• Document clearly on the MAR after meds are given, refused, held, changed.
• Maintain a neat, clean med cart/room and restock as needed.
• Supervise caregiver staff on duty to provide quality care.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living and meals as needed.
• Assist with cleaning and tidying residents’ rooms/laundry.
• Establish and maintain good relationships with residents and their families.
