Job summary

Cedarhurst Senior Living in Salina, KS is seeking a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to administer medications and provide direct resident care under the Director of Nursing.

You will follow individualized care plans, assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, document accurately, and support safety and independence for residents in a compassionate, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current and active state-approved medication aide/technician certification is required.
• Insulin certification is preferred.
• CPR or BLS certification is preferred.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care services including medication administration following an individualized care plan.
• Observe residents and report condition changes to physicians or supervisors with timely interventions.
• Document observations, incidents, and medication administration in the nursing record.
• Pass essential information to the next shift and ensure timely documentation by aides.
• Administer and document medications following the five rights (right medication, right route, right resident, right time, right dose).
• Perform glucose monitoring and insulin administration where certified.
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, oral care, toileting, dressing, etc.).
• Assist with transfers, ambulation, and safe mobility with proper body mechanics.
• Encourage participation in facility activities and monitor nutrition/hydration.
