Job summary

Diversicare invites qualified Certified Med Aide/Techs to join our care team in Alabama. The role focuses on administering medications under licensed supervision, documenting each step, and monitoring patient responses to therapy in a residential healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Must have state-approved school of medication administration.
• Must carry current acknowledgment card or certification issued by state agency.
• Must be willing to abide by restrictions placed on his/her job by state agency.
• Must be a certified nursing assistant.

Responsibilities

• Administers PRN medications after authorization by licensed nurse or physician.
• Organizes medication duties and documents routine meds and PRN meds as instructed.
• Documents PRNs according to State Standards in all chart areas.
• Observe and report reactions/side effects of medications to the charge nurse.
• Take and record vital signs before administering medications that affect vitals.
• Prepare and document medications the aide is permitted to administer and record in the resident’s chart.
• Notify the licensed nurse verbally and document activity in emergencies involving oxygen.
• Count narcotics and document all routine narcotics as directed by the charge nurse.
