Job summary

Diversicare Healthcare Services, LLC is seeking a Certified Med Aide/Tech to support resident care and medication administration. You will work under a licensed nurse to administer medications and document thorough records in the resident's chart.

The role requires completion of a state-approved medication administration program and active CNA certification, with adherence to state guidelines and facility policies. Excellent patient care skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have successfully completed state approved school of medication administration.
• Must carry current acknowledgment card or certification issued by state agency.
• Must be willing to abide by restrictions placed on his/her job by state agency.
• Must be a certified nursing assistant.

Responsibilities

• Administers PRN medications after authorization by licensed nurse or physician.
• Organizes medication duties to pour, pass, and document routine meds and PRN meds as instructed.
• Documents all PRNs according to State Standards.
• Observes and reports adverse reactions or side effects to the licensed nurse.
• Takes and records vital signs prior to administration of meds that may affect vitals.
• Administers and documents medications after preparing them for administration to residents.
• Counts narcotics and documents them as required by policy and state rules.
