Job summary

Diversicare is seeking a Certified Med Aide/Tech to join our team in Kansas. As a certified nursing assistant, you will administer prescribed meds, document, and monitor residents under licensed nurse supervision.

You will take vital signs, report side effects, and ensure accurate medication records in alignment with state standards. Ideal candidates are CNAs with state-approved medication administration training and a current certification.

Qualifications

• Must have state-approved school of medication administration.
• Must carry current acknowledgment card or certification issued by state agency.
• Must be willing to abide by state-imposed restrictions on the job.
• Must be a certified nursing assistant.

Responsibilities

• Administers PRN medications under supervision as authorized by licensed nurses or physicians.
• Organizes medication duties, pours, passes and documents routine meds; follows instructions for PRN meds.
• Documents PRNs per State Standards in all chart areas.
• Observes and reports reactions and side effects to the licensed nurse.
• Takes and records vital signs prior to meds that may affect them.
• Administers and documents regularly prescribed meds after preparation and records in the resident chart.
• Administers oxygen in emergencies and notifies the nurse on duty with proper documentation.
• Counts narcotics and documents administration as directed by the charge nurse.
