Good Samaritan in Canistota, SD is seeking a dedicated Medication Assistant (MA) to provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a charge nurse. You will help with basic health care tasks, monitor vital signs, assist with meals, and support residents in activities and mobility.

The role includes administering prescribed medications as delegated, documenting outcomes, and communicating changes to the charge nurse.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Minimum age 18.
• Must maintain state-required CNA/CMA certification.
• State-specific CMA/Medication Aide requirements vary by state (IA/ND/SD/MN).

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Record outcomes related to care, medications, behavior, and nutrition.
• Assist with transfers, range of motion, and mobility as directed.
• Support wellness and recreational programs and participate in committees as needed.
