Job summary

Good Samaritan is seeking a Medication Assistant to deliver resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under nurse supervision. You will document care, monitor health needs, and support residents with activities and meals.

The role requires state CMA/CNA certifications where applicable, and adherence to care plans and safety standards in a licensed facility. Training and ongoing education are expected.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Iowa CNA certification required and maintained with State Board of Nursing.
• Minnesota/North Dakota/South Dakota CMA or CMA-related certifications required depending on state.
• For all Good Samaritan facilities: active CMA or TMA certification and CNA registration or ability to obtain within 120 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance as directed.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Document outcomes related to resident care, medication administration, behavior, activity, and dietary.

Education
