Duties And Responsibilities
- Administer medications to residents as ordered and under the supervision of the attending physician.
- Follow established nursing standards, policies, local procedures, and state requirements for medication administration.
- Prepare, administer, and document oral and/or topical medications accurately and safely.
- Complete necessary forms, charts, and reports promptly.
- Ensure proper labeling, return, and reordering of medications.
- Create a warm, patient, and cheerful environment.
- Participate in facility surveys by authorized government agencies.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident care information per HIPAA guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with charge nurses, directors, and administrators.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Licensed Certified Nursing Assistant and Certified Medication Aide in Oregon.
- Knowledge of medical abbreviations, symbols, and medication terms.
- Ability to measure, record, and report vital signs accurately.
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Active CPR/BLS certification.
