Duties And Responsibilities

• Administer medications to residents as ordered and under the supervision of the attending physician.
• Follow established nursing standards, policies, local procedures, and state requirements for medication administration.
• Prepare, administer, and document oral and/or topical medications accurately and safely.
• Complete necessary forms, charts, and reports promptly.
• Ensure proper labeling, return, and reordering of medications.
• Create a warm, patient, and cheerful environment.
• Participate in facility surveys by authorized government agencies.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident care information per HIPAA guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with charge nurses, directors, and administrators.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Licensed Certified Nursing Assistant and Certified Medication Aide in Oregon.
• Knowledge of medical abbreviations, symbols, and medication terms.
• Ability to measure, record, and report vital signs accurately.
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Active CPR/BLS certification.
