Job summary

Good Samaritan Canistota is seeking a Medication Assistant to provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under a charge nurse. You will help with basic health tasks, vital signs, and mobility, while ensuring a positive dining and living experience for residents.

Responsibilities include administering medications as delegated, documenting care outcomes, and supporting wellness activities.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age 18 preferred. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• A minimum of 12 hours continuing education annually based on state requirements.
• When applicable, may need a valid driver's license and auto insurance.
• CNA certification must be maintained with the State Board of Nursing (state CMA/CMA requirements as applicable).

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under supervision.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Document outcomes related to resident care, medication administration, behavior, activity and dietary.
• Collect non-invasive specimens and monitor vital signs.
• Provide housekeeping and laundry services to maintain clean living areas.
• Support wellness and recreational programs and participate in committees as needed.
