Job summary

Tryon Medical Partners is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support our Primary Care team in Charlotte. The role covers both clinical and administrative tasks, including patient care, charting, and coordinating care across Waverly locations.

The candidate will perform vital signs, phlebotomy, injections, EHR data entry, and operate under physician supervision. Strong patient communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program (CAAHEP or ABHES).
• Medical Assistant certification required.
• Maintain American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification.
• Completion of Hepatitis B Vaccine and Flu Vaccine Form will be required.
• Completion of TB test will be required.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and interview patients; measure vital signs and document in chart.
• Assist patients with walking transfers, dressing, collecting specimens.
• Perform nursing procedures under supervision of physician or PA.
• Assist physician and physician assistant in exam rooms.
• Give instructions to patients/families as instructed by physician.
• Serve as first point of response to patient care related calls and messages; relay information as directed.
• Collect information and process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians and physician assistants.
• Initiate laboratory procedures per OSHA; perform CLIA-waived tests and venipunctures.
• Initiates electrocardiography testing including mounting.
• Schedule appointments and referrals; follow up to ensure orders completed.
• Medication refills; lab reconciliation; complete forms and prior authorizations.
• Monitor assigned Athena boxes and work at multiple Tryon office locations.
• Other duties as assigned.
