Tryon Med is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support Ballantyne Primary Care. The role involves hands-on patient care and administrative duties across clinical and clerical areas, under physician supervision.

Responsibilities include preparing exam rooms, documenting patient information, handling messages, and coordinating appointments. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent with an accredited Medical Assisting program and preferred MA certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program (CAAHEP or ABHES).
• Medical Assistant certification preferred and BLS/CPR certification maintained.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and assist with vital signs and history collection.
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor procedures; administer injections and specimen collection as directed.
• Manage patient communications, take and relay messages, and coordinate referrals and appointments.
• Perform CLIA-waived tests and basic lab procedures; maintain infection control and sterile technique.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the patient chart and ensure records are up to date.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program (CAAHEP or ABHES).

Medical Assistant certification preferred.

Maintain American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification.
