Job summary

Tryon Med in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for our Primary Care team at SouthPark 7. This full-time role supports physicians with patient care and handles clerical, environmental, and logistical tasks.

You will take vital signs, assist with exams, administer injections, collect specimens, perform basic lab procedures, and coordinate appointments, referrals, and charting within the EHR.

Qualifications

• Requires completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program (CAAHEP or ABHES).
• Medical Assistant certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR/BLS certification maintained; Hepatitis B vaccine and TB testing may be required.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vitals, document information in chart.
• Assist physicians and physician assistants in exams and with procedures.
• Perform nursing tasks under supervision, including injections and minor procedures.
• Coordinate patient care activities and assist with clerical duties as needed.
• Triage patient calls and messages, route information to providers and front desk.
• Initiate and process CLIA-waived tests and basic lab procedures.
• Prepare specimens, manage labeling, and ensure proper handling of samples.
• Schedule appointments and referrals, follow up to ensure orders are completed.
• Maintain infection control, clean rooms, and stock supplies.
