Job summary

Allegheny Health Network in Erie, PA seeks a Medical Assistant to support patient care under physician supervision. You will prep patients, record vitals and histories, assist with exams, perform back‑office testing, and keep the exam rooms stocked and sterile.

Scribing may be required with training, and you will follow AHN protocols for screenings and documentation. You will document in the EHR, handle related clerical duties, and may travel between AHN locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or completion of a Medical Assistant program
• Certification within 120 days of hire if not already certified
• CPR certification required
• Background checks: Act 34/33/73 FBI as applicable

Responsibilities

• Assists in coordinating patient care under supervision of the health care provider
• Prepares and rooms patients; records vital signs, history, tobacco use, and medication screening
• Matches AHN protocols for screenings and referrals; pends/ cues up orders as needed
• Performs back office testing per AHN policies; assists with examinations and procedures
• May serve as a scribe with training; follow up with patients as directed
• Maintains exam room readiness and inventory; cleans and sterilizes instruments; performs lab controls
• Documents in EHR accurately; handles clerical tasks; may float between locations
