Job summary

UNC Health, located in Nashville, NC, is seeking a Medical Assistant I, Certified to provide routine clinical and administrative support in an outpatient clinic. You will work under supervision to assist providers, collect vitals, and support patient care in a full-time onsite role.

The position requires MA certification (AAMA/AMT/CCMA/NRCMA/NCMA) and BLS, with preferred completion of a CAHEP/ABHES-accredited program. Prior MA experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assisting program accredited by either CAAHEP or ABHES is strongly preferred but not required.
• Certification by AAMA, AMT, CCMA, NRCMA, or NCMA.
• Basic Life Support certification required (AHA or ARC).

Responsibilities

• Perform rooming and intake, collecting vital signs and visit data.
• Collect medical and social history; review medications and allergies.
• Assist provider during treatments and procedures; administer meds as directed.
• Prepare exam rooms, maintain supplies and sterilize instruments.
