Job summary

UNC Health Medical Group in Raleigh, NC, seeks a Medical Assistant II, Certified to provide routine clinical and administrative support in outpatient clinics. You will work under the supervision of providers and the clinic manager to ensure efficient patient flow and quality care.

The role requires MA certification (AAMA/AMT/CCMA/NCMA/NRCMA/NCMA) and BLS, with at least one year of experience. Responsibilities include rooming, specimen collection, phlebotomy, EKGs, and assisting with procedures

Qualifications

• Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage positively with patients and families and to work as a team with staff and providers.
• Experience using electronic medical records to document patient information.
• Certification as Medical Assistant per AAMA/AMT/CCMA/NCMA/NRCMA/NCMA requirements; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform rooming and intake including vitals and patient data collection.
• Collect medical and social history; review medications and allergies.
• Assist providers during exams and procedures; perform phlebotomy.
• Administer medications under provider direction; conduct tests (EKG, eye exams) as directed.
• Prepare and stock exam rooms; ensure supplies and forms are available.
• Assist with patient registration, scheduling, referrals, and clinic communications.
