Palmetto Pediatrics is seeking a Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) to support pediatric care by performing patient work-ups, lab collection, and procedures within scope of practice. The role emphasizes accurate vital signs, patient education, and collaboration with physicians to ensure high-quality care for children.

Responsibilities include preparing patients for exams, assisting during visits, handling lab work, and maintaining sterile, organized exam rooms while adhering to HIPAA guidelines.

Competenze

• Experience as CMA/RMA or medical assistant preferred.
• Ability to assist providers with patient work-up, labs, and procedures.
• Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and patient privacy.

Mansioni

• Escort patients to exam rooms, measure vital signs, and document in chart.
• Instruct patients about medications and diets as instructed by the medical provider.
• Explain treatment procedures to patients.
• Prepare patients for examination.
• Assist physician during exams.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
• Perform basic laboratory tests.
• Maintain exam rooms and keep supplies stocked.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed.
• Perform blood collection following OSHA standards.
• Remove sutures and change dressings.
• Maintain logs and required checks (e.g., fridge temps, emergency meds, etc.).
• Process messages from patients and front office staff to providers.
• Meet position requirements and perform essential functions.
• Complete mandatory training as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
