Credentialed Medical Assistant II, Obstetrics/Gynecology

Location: Winston Salem, NC, United States

Position Highlights:

• Shift Schedule: Full Time (40 hours), Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm
• Department: Obstetrics/Gynecology
• Location: 1200 N Martin Luther King Jr. Dr., Winston, NC 27103

Responsibilities:

Prepare and assist with in-office procedures (e.g., IUD insertion, colposcopy, LEEP, cystoscopy, vasectomy, biopsy, rhinoscopy, US-guided procedures, lumbar punctures, paracentesis, etc.).

Manage processes such as telehealth encounters, surgery scheduling, medication and supply ordering, schedule management, sterile supply management, prior authorizations, referrals, infusion coordination, DME management, and uploading physiologic data.

Utilize disease-specific or age-specific screening tools, manage in-basket messages, perform instrument disinfection, phlebotomy, manage urinary devices, wound care, administer local anesthesia (competency required), and perform various multispecialty and front desk tasks.

Perform respiratory functions, ear lavage, urine drug screens, immunizations, EKGs, vision and hearing screenings.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED; Associate's Degree preferred
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC
• Current Medical Assistant certification from one of the recognized certifying bodies (AAMA, NHA, NCCT, AMT, etc.)
