In a collaborative manner, the Medical Assistant will support Medical Providers and patients through tasks such as patient care management, organization, and communication. We seek a highly motivated individual to perform patient interviews, measure vital signs (pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height), and record information on patients' charts. The Medical Assistant prepares treatment rooms and collaborates closely with Providers and staff to ensure quality patient care and satisfaction.

Work Location

This position is based on-site in Winston-Salem, NC, with possible limited travel to our NC satellite offices in Kernersville, Clemmons, Elkin, and Mount Airy.

Purpose

Assist in all aspects of patient care under the supervision of a physician or PA.

Responsibilities
  • Maximize provider productivity by preparing for patient appointments, assisting during appointments, and providing follow-ups.
  • Review patients' charts prior to encounters and ensure exam rooms are prepared and stocked.
  • Schedule additional tests to support diagnoses as directed.
  • Act as a resource and contact point for patients, returning calls, providing lab results, and answering questions.
  • Provide patient education regarding aftercare, medications, therapies, and regimens.
  • Ensure medical records are complete and accurate by recording patient concerns, vital signs, and other information.
  • Follow safety protocols, including PPE use and equipment safety checks, to minimize risks and prevent infection transmission.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy in compliance with HIPAA.
  • Contribute to a patient-centered team environment by cross-training and filling in as needed, maintaining certifications.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completion of an approved medical assisting program - CMA/RMA Certification
  • Current CPR certification
  • Valid NC Driver's License
