Job summary

UNC Health in Durham, NC, is seeking a certified Medical Assistant II to provide routine clinical and administrative support in an outpatient clinic setting. The MA II will work under clinical supervision of the provider and under the direction of the clinic manager.

Responsibilities include rooming, data collection, phlebotomy, medication administration, and assisting with procedures. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for coordinating care within the UNC Family Medicine Durham

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of full-time Medical Assistant experience.
• Certification as Medical Assistant (AAMA/AMT/NCMA/CCMA/ NRCMA) and Basic Life Support required.

Responsibilities

• Perform rooming and intake, including vitals and reason for visit.
• Collect patient data and medical/social history; review medications and allergies.
• Assist provider during examinations and procedures; collect specimens and perform phlebotomy.
• Administer medications under provider direction; perform tests (EKG, vision) as directed.
• Maintain exam/treatment rooms with supplies and educational materials.
• Assist with registration, check-in/out, scheduling of tests and referrals.
• Support in emergencies and contribute to clinic safety and quality initiatives.
