Job summary

UNC Health Care is seeking a Medical Assistant II, Certified to support outpatient clinic teams in Chapel Hill, NC. The role provides routine clinical and administrative duties under supervision of providers and clinic management.

Responsibilities include rooming, data collection, medication review, phlebotomy, specimen handling, and assisting with procedures. Prior MA certification and at least one year of experience are required.

Qualifications

• One year of full-time Medical Assistant experience is required.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant per AAMA/AMT/NCMA/CCMA/NCMA is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform rooming/intake with vital signs and visit data.
• Collect patient medical/social history data.
• Review medication list and allergies; document preferred pharmacy.
• Assist provider during treatments and procedures.
• Collect specimens and perform phlebotomy.
• Administer medications as directed by provider.
• Conduct tests (EKG, eye exams) under provider direction.
• Ensure exam/treatment rooms have supplies and are ready.
• Provide post-visit instructions and educational materials.
• Assist with registration, scheduling, and referrals.
• Answer clinic calls and triage as directed.
