Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Medical Assistant II in Franklin, MA to provide clinical care and support office/clinic functions under licensed supervision. The role includes taking vital signs, assisting providers, and performing routine procedures as part of a patient care team.

The position requires a High School diploma, BLS, and a MA credential approved by the Massachusetts Department of Health. Schedule is Mon-Fri with hours around 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, and a 40-hour workweek.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current BLS/HS certification from the American Heart Association; if not available on hire, must be obtained within 3 months.
• Medical Assistant credential, approved by the Massachusetts Department of Health.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to examination rooms and records vital signs.
• Performs EKGs, phlebotomy, and Point of Care tests according to clinic standards.
• May prepare, document and administer non-intravenous injections as directed.
• Assists in performing routine physical examinations or clinical procedures.
• Reviews lab results and informs physicians of abnormal findings.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Current BLS or Heart Saver certification from the American Heart Association

Medical Assistant credential, approved by the Massachusetts Department of Health
