Job summary

UNC Health in Raleigh, NC seeks a Medical Assistant II, Certified to provide routine clinical and administrative support in an outpatient clinic. You will assist providers, perform intake, rooming, phlebotomy, and basic lab tasks while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

This position requires current Medical Assistant certification, BLS, and at least one year of experience. Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program is preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assisting program is strongly preferred but not required.
• Requires Medical Assistant certification from AAMA/AMT/CCMA/NCMA/NCCT.
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC is required.
• At least one year of full-time Medical Assistant experience.

Responsibilities

• Rooming and intake, collecting vitals and reason for visit.
• Collecting patient and family data, including med list and allergies.
• Assist provider during treatments and procedures.
• Perform phlebotomy and basic tests (e.g., EKG) as directed.
• Maintain exam/treatment rooms and inventory.
• Assist with registration, scheduling, and referrals.
• Support in emergency situations as directed.
