Job summary

UNC Health is hiring a Medical Assistant II, Certified in Raleigh, NC. The role provides routine clinical and administrative support in an outpatient clinic and operates under supervision of providers and clinic leadership. Eligible for a $7,500 commitment incentive and competitive pay.

Qualified candidates will have at least one year of MA experience, certification through AAMA/AMT/CCMA/NRCMA/NCMA, and BLS. Medical Assisting program is strongly preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• At least one year of full-time Medical Assistant, Certified experience.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program preferred but not required.
• Certification as MA (AAMA/AMT/CCMA/NRCMA/NCMA) required or within 1 year of hire.
• BLS Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, collect vitals and data for visit.
• Collect medical/social history and review meds.
• Assist provider during exams and procedures.
• Perform phlebotomy and administer meds per provider.
• Conduct tests (EKG, eye exams) as directed.
• Ensure supplies and materials are ready for visits.
• Assist with registration, scheduling, and referrals.
• Answer clinic calls and triage under supervision.
• Support in emergency situations as directed.
• Train/mentor new MAs and support clinic quality/safety tasks.
• Maintain immunization or medication registries as needed.
• Order clinic supplies and manage inventory.
