Job summary

UNC Health in Raleigh, NC seeks a Certified Medical Assistant II to provide routine clinical and administrative support in an outpatient clinic. You will work under provider supervision and support the health care team.

This position carries a $7,500 commitment incentive and requires MA certification and at least one year of experience; completion of an accredited MA program is preferred. You will perform rooming, data collection, vitals, specimen collection, phlebotomy, basic procedures, EMR

Qualifications

• One year of full-time Medical Assistant experience.
• Certification as Medical Assistant by a recognized body (AAMA/AMT/CCMA/NRCMA/NCMA).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC.

Responsibilities

• Rooming/in-take: collect vitals, height, weight, and reason for visit.
• Collect/verify patient data and medication list.
• Assist providers during procedures and treatments.
• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection.
• Administer medications under provider direction.
• Conduct routine tests (EKG, eye exams) as directed.
• Prepare and stock exam rooms; ensure supplies and education materials.
• Assist with registration, scheduling, and referrals.
• Maintain EMR documentation and patient communications.
