Job summary

UNC Health in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Medical Assistant II, Certified for an outpatient clinic. You will provide clinical and administrative support under supervisor guidance, rooming patients, collecting vitals, drawing specimens, and assisting with procedures.

The role requires current MA certification and BLS, with potential for a $7,500 commitment incentive. Standard hours are full-time, onsite, with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assisting program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES is strongly preferred but not required.
• Medical Assistant certification from AAMA, AMT, CCMA, NRCMA, or NCMA.
• Basic Life Support certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs rooming and intake, including vital signs and patient data collection.
• Collects medical history, social history, and medication lists.
• Assists provider during treatments and procedures, including phlebotomy.
• Administers medications under provider supervision and conducts tests (e.g., EKG).
• Maintains exam rooms, cleans and sterilizes instruments, and stocks supplies.
• Assists with patient registration, scheduling, and referrals.
• Provides post-visit instructions and education materials.
