Qualifications

Job description

We are currently recruiting a full-time Certified Medical Assistant for our Brunswick Hills OB/GYN practice in East Brunswick, NJ, with occasional coverage at the Hillsborough, NJ location.

Under the guidance of Axia Women’s Health protocols and physicians, the CMA will engage professionally with patients by assisting with care, recording critical information, and providing guidance to maximize their benefit from our services.

Essential Functions:
  1. Adhere to OSHA guidelines, infection control protocols, and maintain sterilization standards.
  2. Assist patients with transfers and dressing as needed.
  3. Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history, vital signs, symptoms, and lab reports, entering all data into the EMR.
  4. Perform venipuncture and specimen collection.
  5. Assist providers with procedures and screenings.
  6. Relay instructions and information to patients.
  7. Complete necessary forms and requisitions for billing and records.
  8. Follow confidentiality policies and HIPAA regulations.
  9. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualities & Skills:
  1. Phlebotomy skills.
  2. Ability to independently obtain vital signs.
  3. Professional and positive attitude.
  4. Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
  5. Ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  6. Flexibility to work varying schedules and travel to satellite locations.
Education & Experience:
  1. High School Diploma or GED; some college preferred.
  2. Current national Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA).
  3. CPR certification.
  4. At least 1 year of recent medical assistant experience or documented internship.
  5. Experience with eClinicalWorks EMR is beneficial.
  6. OB/GYN or Women’s Health experience is preferred.
