Job summary

Ascension in Fishers, IN is seeking a Medical Assistant to support OB/GYN providers in a full-time, Monday–Friday schedule 8am–4:30pm.

You will measure vitals, prepare exam rooms, document patient history, and help manage front-office tasks while ensuring a clean, efficient workflow within a busy clinical setting.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire date is required.
• Medical Assistant certification or registration within 3 months of hire date is required.

Responsibilities

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Direct Patient Support: Assist providers with patient examinations, measure vital signs, and execute ordered treatments and procedures under supervision.
• Clinical & Administrative Flow: Prepare treatment rooms, maintain a clean environment, and manage basic materials ordering and stocking to ensure operational efficiency.
• Accurate Documentation: Interview patients for medical history, accurately chart all information, and precisely transcribe provider orders for lab tests, radiology, and medications.
• Front-Office Management: Handle critical clerical duties, including answering calls and maintaining organized patient records to support a seamless practice flow.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Medical Assistant obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. Certified or Registered both accepted.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
