Job summary

Diversicare is seeking a Certified Med Aide/Tech to join our on-site team in Alabama. You will assist in medication administration under licensed staff supervision, document PRN meds, monitor residents, and report any changes in condition.

This role emphasizes accuracy, compliance with state standards, and patient-centered care. Requirements include completion of a state-approved medication administration program and current CNA certification.

Qualifications

• Must have completed state-approved school of medication administration.
• Must carry current acknowledgment card or certification issued by state agency.
• Must abide by restrictions placed on the job by state agency.
• Must be a certified nursing assistant.

Responsibilities

• Administers PRN medications after authorization by licensed nurse or physician.
• Organizes medication duties to pour, pass, and document routine medications; administers PRN as instructed.
• Documents all PRNs according to State Standards.
• Observe and report reactions and side effects of medications to the charge nurse.
• Take and record vital signs prior to medications that could affect vitals.
• Prepare and document medications to be administered and record in the resident's chart.
• Administer oxygen per nasal channel or non-sealing mask in emergencies and document action.
• Count narcotics and document accordingly as directed by the charge nurse.
