Job summary

Diversicare Healthcare Services, LLC is seeking a Certified Med Aide/Tech to join our team and deliver essential medication administration under nurse supervision. You will organize, document, and administer prescribed meds while ensuring patient safety and compliance with state standards.

Qualifications

• Must have completed state approved school of medication administration.
• Must carry current acknowledgment card or certification issued by state agency.
• Must be willing to abide by restrictions placed on his/her job by state agency.
• Must be a certified nursing assistant.

Responsibilities

• Administers PRN medications after authorization by the facility’s licensed nurse or physician.
• Organizes medication duties to pour, pass, and document routine medications and PRN meds per nurse instruction.
• Document all PRNs according to State Standards in the chart.
• Observe and report reactions/side effects of medications to the charge nurse.
• Take and record vital signs prior to administration when needed.
• Prepare and document medications given by the medication aide.
• Administer oxygen in emergencies and notify the nurse on duty after the event.
• Count narcotics as directed and document on the medication sheet.
