Qualifikationen

• Must have state approved school of medication administration.
• Must carry current acknowledgment card or state certification.
• Must be willing to abide by restrictions placed on job by state agency.
• Must be a certified nursing assistant.

Aufgaben

• Administers PRN medications after authorization by licensed nurse or physician.
• Organizes medication duties to pour, pass, and document routine meds and PRN meds as instructed by nurse.
• Document all PRNs according to State Standards.
• Observe and report reactions and side effects to licensed nurse.
• Take and record vital signs prior to administration of medications that could affect vitals.
• Prepare and document medications to be administered and record in the resident's chart.
• Count narcotics and document as required by policy.
