Job summary

Diversicare is hiring a Certified Med Aide/Tech to provide patient-centered care under licensed nurses in a skilled nursing setting. You will administer prescribed medications, document accurately, monitor vital signs, and report adverse reactions in accordance with state standards.

Qualifications

• Must have successfully completed state approved school of medication administration.
• Must carry current acknowledgment card or certification issued by state agency.
• Must be willing to abide by restrictions placed on his/her job by state agency.
• Must be a certified nursing assistant.

Responsibilities

• Administers PRN medications under supervision.
• Organizes medication duties to pour, pass, and document routine prescribed medications and PRN meds per instruction of licensed nurse.
• Documents all PRNs according to State Standards in all areas of the chart.
• Observe and report reactions and side effects of medications to the charge nurse.
• Take and record vital signs prior to administration of medications that could affect vital signs.
• Prepare and document medications to be administered and record in resident’s chart.
• Count narcotics as directed and document on medication sheets.
