Job summary

Diversicare is seeking a Certified Med Aide/Tech to join our dynamic healthcare team. You will work under licensed nursing supervision to administer medications, document in the resident chart, take vital signs, and respond to emergencies.

Diversicare values growth through cross-training across departments and offers a comprehensive benefits package. Eligible candidates are CNAs who have completed state-approved medication administration training and hold current certification.

Qualifications

• Must have completed state approved school of medication administration.
• Must carry current acknowledgment card or certification issued by state agency.
• Must be willing to abide by restrictions placed on his/her job by state agency.
• Must be a certified nursing assistant.

Responsibilities

• Administers PRN medications after authorization by licensed nurse or physician.
• Organizes duties to pour, pass, and document routine prescribed meds and PRN meds when instructed.
• Documents all PRN medications according to state standards.
• Observes and reports reactions/side effects of medications to the licensed nurse.
• Takes and records vital signs before administering medications that may affect vital signs.
• Administers documented medications after preparation and records in resident's chart.
• Administers oxygen in emergencies and documents actions and notifications.
• Counts narcotics and documents narcotic administration as directed by charge nurse.
