Job summary

Norman Regional Health System seeks a skilled Certified Hand Therapist to lead upper-extremity rehabilitation within outpatient therapy. You will evaluate, custom-splint, and implement recovery plans for hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder conditions.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree with OT/PT licensure; a DPT/OTD is preferred and a CHT credential is required. Strong leadership and collaborative skills are essential for interdisciplinary care planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Doctor of Physical Therapy or Doctor of Occupational Therapy preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• 3+ years of upper-extremity rehab and outpatient therapy experience.
• Current state PT or OT license.
• Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patient condition and plan of care.
• Provide therapeutic interventions appropriate to patient age and disability.
• Document delivery of Occupational Therapy services.
• Directs and supervises activities of Occupational Therapy Assistants, students and support personnel.
• Design, fabricate, fit, and adjust custom orthoses and splints for hand and upper-extremity.
• Educate patients on orthosis wear, care, and precautions.
• Treat orthopedic, traumatic, burn, tendon, nerve, and postoperative conditions.
• Provide scar management, edema control, wound care, and return-to-work rehab as appropriate.
• Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, therapists and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and case discussions.
