Job summary

Norman Regional Health System is seeking a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) to deliver specialized rehabilitation for the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder within outpatient services. You will evaluate patients, develop recovery plans, and lead custom splinting and orthotic fabrication.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree, a state PT or OT license, and a CHT credential, with 3+ years in upper-extremity rehab. Collaboration with hand surgeons and therapists is essential for interdisciplinary care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• DPT or OT doctorate preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited OT program.
• 3+ years of experience in upper-extremity rehabilitation and outpatient therapy.
• Current state PT or OT license; Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential; CPR/BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patient condition and establish plan of care.
• Provide therapeutic interventions appropriate to age and disability of the patient.
• Document delivery of Occupational Therapy services.
• Directs and supervises activities of Occupational Therapy Assistants, students and support personnel.
• Design, fabricate, fit, and adjust custom orthoses and splints for hand and upper-extremity conditions.
• Educate patients on orthosis wear, care, and precautions.
• Treat patients with orthopedic, traumatic, burn, tendon, nerve, and postoperative conditions.
• Provide scar management, edema control, wound care, and return-to-work rehabilitation as appropriate.
• Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
