Job summary

Norman Regional Health System is seeking a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) to provide specialized rehabilitation for the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder. You will evaluate patients, create recovery plans, and supervise OT staff in an outpatient setting.

The role requires 3+ years in upper-extremity rehab, possession of a current PT/OT license, and CHT credential, with CPR/BLS certification. Excellent collaboration with surgeons and clinicians is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• DPT or DOT preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• 3+ years of experience in upper-extremity rehabilitation and outpatient therapy.
• Current state PT or OT license; CHT credential; CPR/BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments and establish plan of care.
• Provide therapeutic interventions appropriate to patient age and disability.
• Document delivery of Occupational Therapy services.
• Directs and supervises activities of OT Assistants, students and support personnel.
• Design, fabricate, fit, and adjust custom orthoses and splints for hand and upper-extremity conditions.
• Educate patients on orthosis wear, care, and precautions.
• Treat orthopedic, traumatic, burn, tendon, nerve, and postoperative conditions.
• Provide scar management, edema control, wound care, and return-to-work rehabilitation as appropriate.
• Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals; participate in interdisciplinary care planning and case discussions.
