Job summary

Norman Regional Health System is seeking a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) to provide specialized hand and upper-extremity rehabilitation in an outpatient setting. The role involves patient evaluation, custom splinting and development of recovery plans, plus collaboration with hand surgeons and therapists.

Strong emphasis on education, documentation, and mentoring staff and students. Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree, with DPT or DOT preferred, and current state PT or OT license

Qualifications

• Experience in upper-extremity rehabilitation and outpatient therapy.
• Strong hand therapy and orthotic fabrication knowledge.
• Clinical reasoning and documentation accuracy.
• Ability to mentor staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments of the patient’s condition and establish plan of care.
• Provide therapeutic interventions appropriate to age and disability of the patient.
• Document delivery of Occupational Therapy services.
• Direct and supervise activities of assistants, students and support personnel.
• Design, fabricate, fit, and adjust custom orthoses and splints for hand and upper-extremity conditions.
• Educate patients on orthosis wear, care, and precautions.
• Treat post-surgical and injury rehabilitation cases including scar management and return-to-work rehab.
• Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, physical therapists and other healthcare professionals.
