Job summary

Norman Regional Health System in Oklahoma is seeking a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) to provide specialized rehabilitation for the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder in outpatient settings. You will evaluate patients, fabricate custom orthoses, supervise assistants, and develop recovery plans.

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree and an OT or PT doctorate (DPT/MOT preferred), 3+ years in upper-extremity rehab, and current state license with CHT and CPR/BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• DPT or MOT preferred
• Graduate of an accredited OT program
• 3+ years of upper-extremity rehab/outpatient therapy
• Current state PT or OT license; CHT credential; CPR/BLS certification

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments and establish plan of care
• Provide therapeutic interventions for hand/upper-extremity conditions
• Document delivery of OT/PT services
• Direct and supervise OTAs, students and support staff
• Design, fabricate, fit and adjust custom orthoses and splints
• Educate patients on orthosis wear, care and precautions
• Treat orthopedic, traumatic, burn, tendon, nerve, or postoperative cases
• Provide scar management, edema control, wound care, and return-to-work rehab
• Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, and other therapists
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and case discussions
