Job summary

Norman Regional Health System in Oklahoma seeks a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) to provide specialized rehab for the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder, including evaluation, splinting, and recovery planning. You will assess patients, deliver therapeutic interventions, document services, supervise OTAs and students, fabricate orthoses, and manage post‑surgical rehab.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree, state licensure in OT or PT, a CHT credential, CPR/BLS, and 3+ years in upper‑extremity

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Doctor of Physical Therapy or Doctor of Occupational Therapy preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in upper-extremity rehabilitation and outpatient therapy.
• Current state PT or OT license; Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential; CPR/BLS.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patient’s condition and establish plan of care.
• Provide therapeutic interventions appropriate to age and disability of the patient.
• Document Delivery of Occupational Therapy services.
• Directs and supervises activities of OT Assistants, students and support personnel.
• Design, fabricate, fit, and adjust custom orthoses and splints for hand and upper-extremity conditions.
• Educate patients on orthosis wear, care, and precautions.
• Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Treat patients with orthopedic, traumatic, burn, tendon, nerve, and postoperative conditions.
