Job summary

Norman Regional Health System in Oklahoma seeks a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) to deliver specialized rehabilitation for the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder. You will evaluate patients, develop recovery plans and fabricate custom orthoses, collaborating with the hand surgery and therapy teams.

This on-site role requires a Bachelor's degree; a Doctorate in PT or OT is preferred, plus 3+ years in upper-extremity rehab, current licensure and CHT credential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Doctor of Physical Therapy or Doctor of Occupational Therapy preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments and establish plan of care.
• Provide therapeutic interventions appropriate to age and disability.
• Document delivery of Occupational Therapy services.
• Directs and supervises activities of OT assistants, students and support personnel.
• Design, fabricate, fit, and adjust custom orthoses and splints for hand and upper-extremity conditions.
• Educate patients on orthosis wear, care, and precautions.
• Treat orthopedic, traumatic, burn, tendon, nerve, and postoperative conditions.
• Provide scar management, edema control, wound care, and return-to-work rehabilitation as appropriate.
• Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and case discussions.
