Job summary

Norman Regional Health System seeks a Certified Hand Therapist to provide specialized rehabilitation for the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. You will evaluate patients, develop recovery plans, and collaborate with surgeons and therapists to optimize outcomes.

Responsibilities include orthosis fabrication, post-surgical rehab, and mentoring staff. A Bachelor’s degree is required; OT/PT Doctorate is preferred and a current state license plus CHT credential are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OT) or Doctor of Physical Therapy (PT) preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Current state OT/PT license and CHT credential.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patient condition and establish plan of care.
• Provide therapeutic interventions appropriate to age and disability of the patient.
• Document delivery of Occupational Therapy services.
• Directs and supervises activities of OT Assistants, students and support personnel.
• Design, fabricate, fit, and adjust custom orthoses and splints for hand and upper-extremity conditions.
• Educate patients on orthosis wear, care, and precautions.
• Treat patients with orthopedic, traumatic, burn, tendon, nerve, and postoperative conditions; provide scar management and edema control.
• Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals; participate in interdisciplinary care planning.
