Job summary

Norman Regional Health System is seeking a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) to deliver specialized rehabilitation for the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. The role emphasizes patient evaluation, custom orthoses, and developing evidence-based recovery plans.

Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, and other therapists to coordinate interdisciplinary care. A Bachelor’s degree is required, with DPT or DOT preferred, and 3+ years in upper-extremity rehab.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• DPT or DOT preferred.
• Graduate of accredited OT program.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patient condition and establish plan of care.
• Provide therapeutic interventions appropriate to age and disability of the patient.
• Document Delivery of Occupational Therapy services.
• Directs and supervises activities of Occupational Therapy Assistants, students and support personnel.
• Design, fabricate, fit, and adjust custom orthoses and splints for hand and upper-extremity conditions.
• Educate patients on orthosis wear, care, and precautions.
• Treat patients with orthopedic, traumatic, burn, tendon, nerve, and postoperative conditions.
• Provide scar management, edema control, wound care, and return-to-work rehabilitation as appropriate.
• Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and case discussions.
