Job summary

UTMB Health is seeking an Institutional ADA Officer (Certified) for on-site HR Leave Management to oversee ADA compliance and accommodation processes. The role serves as a primary contact for employees and leaders through the accommodation workflow, focusing on return-to-work and temporary or modified duties.

The position requires a certified ADA Coordinator designation and a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with 5 years of leave administration or related HR experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a clinical field, HR, or related field.
• Certified ADA Coordinator designation or comparable certification.
• 5 years of experience in leave administration, disability management, or related HR areas.
• Preferred: case management experience and HR compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the interactive process for temporary and permanent medical accommodation requests to ensure adherence to policies related to disabilities and equal opportunity.
• Manage the Leave as a Reasonable Accommodation Process to ensure compliance with the ADA and institutional policies for timely return to work.
• Develop, implement, and maintain accommodation policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory changes affecting leave and accommodation programs and recommend updates.
• Analyze leave trends, identify operational risks, and recommend process improvements.
• Provide training to HR partners, managers, and employees regarding accommodation requirements and responsibilities.
• Collaborate with Facilities, Patient Services, Leave Management, and other areas to address access needs.
• Maintain compliance with the Texas Mother-Friendly Worksite Program and related accommodations.
• Maintain ADA files and provide data for reporting on institutional compliance.
• Work with Internal Investigations and Office of Legal Affairs on ADA compliance matters.
• Provide leadership to University committees addressing ADA issues.
