Job summary

The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) is seeking an experienced Leave of Absence Administrator to manage UTMB Health Leave Policies, including FMLA, Military Leave and ADA coordination, in collaboration with Workers|s Compensation and the Sick Leave Pool. This contract role supports compliant processing and documentation.

The role requires subject-matter expertise, accurate eligibility reviews, ERP documentation, and staff training.

Qualifications

• Requires Associates Degree in Human Resources, related field, or equivalent.
• Requires 2 years HR, compliance or payroll experience.

Responsibilities

• Serves as subject matter expert for managers and employees regarding FMLA rules and regulations, state leave, and UTMB Family Medical Leave Process.
• Reviews and determines eligibility and tracks all UTMB employee Family Medical Leave and Military Leave requests.
• Documents leave requests in the electronic record system and communicates eligibility for Leave Benefits with employee and employer.
• Coordinates Sick Leave Pool application process in accordance with Texas statute and UTMB policy; provides documentation to medical reviewers.
• Preserves all documentation regarding leave in electronic system per UTMB retention schedule.
• Provides training sessions to UTMB Managers regarding medical and military leave processes (minimal travel may be required).
• Monitors and adheres to legislated updates regarding FMLA and Military Leave.
• Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
• Performs related duties as required.
