Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to join our sterile processing team. You will decontaminate, clean, process, and sterilize supplies and equipment for the hospital and ambulatory clinics, and assist with OR-related charges and daily biological testing.

The role requires completion of an accredited Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology program (or 18 months relevant experience), ability to float across locations, and flexibility to work evenings, nights, weekends, and

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited school of Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology or 18 months relevant Sterile Processing experience
• Required to float across all UCI Health locations as needed
• Knowledge and practice of infectious control techniques and medical terminology
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

• Decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of supplies and equipment dispensed by the department throughout the hospital and outlying clinics
• Charging, billing, and logging of service as well as patient charges for the OR
• Performs daily biological testing
• Participates on special projects and departmental and medical center-wide performance improvement projects as requested
• Required to float across all UCI Health locations as needed
